About Dr. Neda Rafati
Dr. Neda Rafati obtained her BSc in Integrated Sciences from UBC. She was on the Dean’s honour list and a member of the International Golden Key Society. She then pursued her dental education at the faculty of dentistry at UBC where she obtained her DMD. She has been a member of numerous study clubs and been enjoying practicing dentistry using soft and hard tissue lasers, and microscopes.
Dr. Neda (as her patients like to call her) is passionate about treating kids. She has many ‘little’ patients who enjoy coming to see her. She does a wide range of treatments always keeping in mind a patient centred care. She pays attention to what her patients want and tailors their treatment to address their chief concerns. Her clinical scope of practice includes mostly restorative dentistry and paediatric dentistry. She is certified in oral conscious sedation with nitrous oxide and administers it often to her nervous patients. Her practice philosophy is dictated by a strong sense of ethics and an individualized comprehensive treatment plan.
Dr. Neda is a part time faculty at UBC where she teaches fourth year dental students. She enjoys teaching and guiding students in clinical practice of dentistry. She also volunteers at the Downtown East Side First Nation’s Health where she provides free dental treatment for the underprivileged. She has practiced in rural BC and the lower mainland. She was a member of the WinDMP( Women in Dentistry Mentorship Program ) part of the BCDA as well as a member of the Editorial Board of the BCDA.
You can find Dr. Neda at Yyoga or at the gym when she is not working. She enjoys being active and keeping fit. She has a big family whom she loves spending time with.
